Week One

As preparation for my coursework I have come up with a brief, which compiles my main objectives which I aim to achieve. Also, I have begun to brainstorm ideas for possible music videos. As I am interested in making a music video with a narrative, not dissimilar to a short film. Therefore, I have also been watching short films on BBC iPlayer, which the BBC has specially commissioned as a series.
I have drawn brief designs of three characters I intend or am interested in using in my music video. I have also made a resource audit which I have uploaded to this blog as a Prezi. The resource audit provides the personnel and equipment, places and props that I can use for my production.I have also thought about possible song choices.

Project Brief - Promotion package of an album

1. A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options:
· a website homepage for the band;
· a cover for its release as part of a digipak (CD/DVD package);
· a magazine advertisement for the digipak (CD/DVD package).

I have chosen this production task as I think it will be both challenging and exciting as it makes use of creative skills and elements of performance and directing.
I think the areas which I will find challenging is documentation through maintaining the blog as I am not familiar with the blogosphere but look forward to enhancing my knoledge of the online world. I will also find the logistical side a challenge when it comes to shooting my music video, as well as the technicalities of filming.
